Embarking towards the Centennial…

Dear Teachers, Students (past and present) and Well-Wishers,

Welcome to our School Website!

It’s one of my greatest joys to make the school website active after a considerable period of being ‘unavailable’ and even more so during the significant year of the school.

St Mary Mazzarello School, Jowai was established on 8^th September, 1926 and is presently at the beginning of its preparation for the Centenary Year. Therefore, the centennial is a time to refocus ourselves on being grateful for the founding members of this renowned institution. It started as a tiny seed that might have been hardly visible initially but has gradually grown into a well-known temple of learning far and wide. To reach hundred years in its existence, St Mary Mazzarello School has proven to be resilient. It has undoubtedly overcome unsurmountable setbacks. Unprecedented challenges have made it emerged stronger from time to time.

The 100^th anniversary is an important checkpoint in the history of St Mary Mazzarello School, Jowai. This significant period presents a good opportunity to uncover, revitalize and to propel its vision ever forward. It also gives the opportunity to re-read its history, taking notes about the key milestones and the people who have made St Mary Mazzarello School able to educate thousands of young minds over the years.

As we rejoice and feel proud of the hundred years of its establishment, let us continue to live our shared values to make a meaningful and symbolic difference. Thus, let this 100^th milestone be a unique time for us to rethink and reflect on the vision, aims and objectives of the school and create a platform to benefit future generations. Our founding members are not around to tell the origin story of the school – True. We are the ways and means to amplify their voice as we earnestly prepare to celebrate the Centenary of its establishment in 2026.
